What Will Happen to the Antelope?
When it noticed the python was constricting too tightly, it took both the rock python and the antelope away.
A African rock python (scientific name: Python sebae) had successfully captured a young antelope. The mother antelope could only watch helplessly as her offspring was slowly being constricted by its predator. However, a third party appeared, approaching the python.
Unfortunately, this was not a savior but rather the most opportunistic predator of the African savannah, a spotted hyena. It recognized a delicious opportunity and refused to let the chance to snatch the prey slip away, attempting to pull the antelope away from the rock python.
When it realized the python was constricting too tightly, it took both the rock python and the antelope with it. Seeing this, the python abandoned the antelope and fled up a tree. At this moment, the hyena leisurely benefited from the situation without expending much effort.
