Iomega, a manufacturer of storage products, has just announced the launch of the Micro Mini hard drive, which is smaller than a credit card. It supports USB 2.0 connectivity and is available in 4GB and 8GB capacities for prices of $129.95 and $169.95, respectively.
The Iomega Micro Mini weighs less than 50 grams and is smaller than a credit card. The hard drive operates at a speed of 4200 RPM and is protected by shock-resistant technology. It features a retractable USB connector, eliminating the need for a separate USB cable. The power supply for the external hard drive is drawn directly from the USB port of the computer.
According to Brian Still, the marketing channel manager for the product, the new Iomega Micro Mini hard drive promises higher capacity and greater convenience for portable storage devices.
The Micro Mini hard drive is smaller than all current external hard drives, offering better performance and a lower cost per gigabyte compared to Flash memory cards. It will come pre-installed with optional software and recovery storage capabilities.
