Ambushed, the giraffe immediately threw the lion to the ground and stomped on the predator with its front legs.

Pursued by its enemies, the giraffe quickly ran towards an open area where one of the lionesses was lying in wait. Seizing the opportunity, the lioness attempted to leap high and bite into the neck of the prey.
However, due to jumping too soon, she was swiftly thrown to the ground by the giraffe, which then stomped down hard on her body. Enduring numerous painful blows, the lioness had to let her prey escape right before her eyes.
An adult giraffe can possess strong legs that are up to 1.8 meters long. With these legs, they can run at speeds of nearly 60 km/h over short distances. Meanwhile, lions can accelerate to 80 km/h when chasing prey. When hunting alone, a lion finds it challenging to take down such a large prey.
