The concept of parallel universes has emerged since the early 1960s, primarily in the minds of fans of science fiction films and comics. However, recently, a cosmic ray detection experiment discovered particles that may originate from a “parallel” realm, which was also born from the Big Bang.
Experts used a giant helium balloon to lift NASA’s Antarctic Impulsive Transient Antenna (ANITA) to the upper atmosphere of Antarctica, where the cold and dry air creates a perfect environment with very little radio wave interference – which can distort the results obtained.
It was then that they captured a stream of “wind” consisting of high-energy particles from space.
Subatomic neutrinos, with low energy and nearly zero mass, can completely pass through the Earth, but higher-energy objects are blocked by the dense matter on our planet.
This means that high-energy particles can only be detected when they come “down” to Earth from space, but the ANITA team discovered heavier particles, known as “tau neutrinos”, traveling “up” from Earth to the universe.

This discovery suggests that those particles are actually moving backward in time, which could be considered evidence of a parallel universe.
Researcher Peter Gorham from ANITA, a physicist specializing in particle research at the University of Hawaii, stated that the only way for “tau neutrinos” to behave in this manner is for them to transform into another type of particle before passing through the Earth and then return.
Gorham, a co-author of the study conducted at Cornell University, described this strange phenomenon, mentioning that he and his colleagues have witnessed many of these “impossible phenomena” – which some people remain skeptical about.
“Not everyone is satisfied with that hypothesis” – he said.
The simplest explanation for this phenomenon is that at the time of the Big Bang explosion 13.8 billion years ago, two universes were formed – our universe, and a time-reversed universe (from the perspective of the first universe) with time moving backward.
Of course, if there were beings living in such a parallel universe, they would also perceive us as the backward universe.
