Recently, Plane Finder gained attention by posting a video showcasing air traffic in the skies over Europe between 12 PM and 2 PM (UTC). The short clip has received over 50,000 likes and hundreds of comments.
Viewers were astonished by the intricate web of flight paths across Europe. Numerous compliments were directed at air traffic control, with many praising their exceptional coordination that allowed flights to operate smoothly.

According to Eurocontrol, Europe recorded 10.2 million flights in 2023, a 10% increase from 2022, and recovering to 92% of pre-pandemic levels. The peak last year occurred on July 7, 2023, with a total of 34,367 flights.
The number of passengers at the top 40 airports in Europe from January to November 2023 reached 1.19 billion, up 21% compared to 2022.
Eurocontrol also noted that the region with the highest air traffic density includes Benelux (the economic union of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg), northeastern France, Germany, and Switzerland. This area serves as a crossroads for traffic from Northern Europe to the Southwest and from Central Europe to the West.
