A completely new vending machine – version 3 of the automatic coffee vending machine created by the faculty and students of the Mechatronics Department at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education – will be launched at the Vietnam Techmart 2005 (Techmart 2005), which takes place from October 12 to 15 in Ho Chi Minh City.
The version 3 automatic coffee vending machine operates simply, with an easy-to-use control interface, and all commands displayed on an LCD screen.
This machine offers many more features compared to imported models, such as a significantly lower price (15 million VND compared to 3,500 USD for imported machines); it can sell a wider variety of products (8 packaged items, 4 types of canned beverages, and 2 types of mixed drinks, whereas imported machines only sell canned drinks and mixed coffee); easy price adjustment; straightforward sales statistics; and it functions well in outdoor environments…
The coin processing system operates quite effectively, accurately recognizing Vietnamese coins and filtering out incompatible currencies. The design and appearance of the machine are quite attractive.
With these advantages, the product has already received a considerable number of production orders as well as technology transfer requests from various units.
With the hope of widely popularizing vending machines made in Vietnam, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education has also implemented a pilot manufacturing center project to create links between businesses and the university, bridging the gap between research and practical application in Vietnam.
Mr. Nguyen Truong Thinh, a lecturer at the Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, stated that external units can place orders with the center for the research and pilot production of products as per their requirements.
