The W.O.W. Concept is seen as an excellent open wagon, created for display and promotional purposes rather than for commercial sale. Later this month, Honda will showcase this special concept at the Tokyo Auto Show.
A special compartment for dogs, lined with soft fabric, is positioned in front of the front seats, allowing drivers to play with their beloved pets while driving.
A larger cradle is arranged between the two rows of seats and can be folded down to the floor when not in use. Notably, for larger dogs, they can be secured with a safety harness attached to the vehicle’s floor. The biggest danger for these beloved animals is that they can be thrown from the vehicle during an accident.
Honda reports that about one in five families in Japan owns a dog, thus the demand for vehicles resembling a mobile home for these friendly companions is steadily increasing.
The vehicle’s floor mat can be removed, washed, and neatly folded. Additionally, the W.O.W features large sliding doors, providing ample space to satisfy the dogs’ comfort.
Mr. Katsuhito Nakamura, a designer at Honda, stated: “We created this vehicle with dogs in mind; however, it has also become a very friendly vehicle for the elderly, children, and other family members.”
