The China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) has reported that the crew of Shenzhou-18 is in good health and the Tianhe space station is functioning smoothly, creating favorable conditions for conducting activities in space.
On May 28, the CMSA announced that the crew members of the Shenzhou-18 spacecraft aboard the Tianhe space station have successfully completed their first spacewalk.

The Shenzhou-18 crew includes three astronauts: Ye Guangfu, Li Cong, and Li Guangsu, with Ye Guangfu serving as the commander.
Previously, these astronauts participated in the maintenance of the space station, ensuring the operation of life support systems and health checks, and carried out inspections and tests on the EVA suits designed for space activities.
Additionally, they took part in emergency pressure drills across the system, medical rescue simulations, and various other training programs.
According to the CMSA, the trio from Shenzhou-18 has begun to conduct a series of space science experiments and has completed the second installation of experimental equipment aimed at assessing material changes when exposed to the space environment.
The CMSA confirmed that the Shenzhou-18 crew is healthy and that the space station is operating smoothly, facilitating ongoing space activities.
The Tianhe station, completed in 2022, is operated periodically by Chinese astronaut teams every six months. The station is expected to remain in low Earth orbit at an altitude of 400km to 450km above our planet for at least the next 10 years.
