Agibot, a Shanghai-based startup, has unveiled a new series of humanoid robots aimed at competing with Tesla’s Optimus robot.
“We have achieved several breakthroughs in product research and development over the past year, and now we are among the leading groups in the industry,” said Peng Zhihui, founder of Agibot.

Founded in February 2023, Agibot specializes in developing advanced AI and robotic products, as well as innovative ecosystems. The five new robots from Agibot include both biped humanoid robots and wheeled robots, designed for various applications ranging from household tasks to industrial activities, as reported by Interesting Engineering on August 20.
The flagship biped humanoid robot from Agibot is Yuanzheng A2. This robot stands 175 cm tall, weighs 55 kg, and is equipped with various sensors and artificial intelligence (AI). This allows the robot to see, hear, and understand information in visual, textual, and auditory formats. The Yuanzheng A2 is designed with high precision and can perform delicate tasks such as threading a needle.
Additionally, the new product line includes a more robust-looking humanoid robot named A2 Max and service-like robots called A2-W, X1, and X1-W. Details about these models are limited as Agibot has not updated its official website with further information.

Agibot plans to start delivering robots in October, with a goal of delivering a total of 300 robots by the end of the year, according to Jiang Qingsong, the company’s marketing deputy director. Jiang stated that Agibot intends to compete directly with Tesla’s humanoid robot Optimus. During Tesla’s annual shareholder meeting in June, Elon Musk revealed that Optimus might be available for sale by the end of next year and ready for operation at the company’s factories.
“We do not think the gap between the two sides (Optimus and Agibot) will be large. Our commercialization capability and cost control are better than Tesla’s,” Jiang said.
