Due to the influence of a weak cold air mass moving in, from the evening of March 28, the Northern region is expected to experience rain, showers, and scattered thunderstorms.
The latest bulletin from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting on the morning of March 28 indicates that a weak cold air mass is currently moving down to our country.
As a result of the enhanced cold air mass combined with a low-pressure trough and high-altitude wind convergence from 1500 to 5000 meters, from the evening of March 28 to March 29, the Northern region will see rain, showers, and scattered thunderstorms, with localized areas experiencing heavy to very heavy rain.
In the Northern and Central regions, scattered rain and thunderstorms are forecasted for the evenings of March 28 and 29, with localized heavy rainfall expected.
During thunderstorms, there is a risk of whirlwinds, lightning, hail, and strong winds. Heavy localized rainfall could lead to flash floods in small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes, and flooding in low-lying areas.

Weather in Hanoi today includes early morning fog and drizzle, with decreasing clouds and sunshine by midday. In the evening and at night, there will be showers and scattered thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing heavy to very heavy rain. The lowest temperature will range from 21-23 degrees Celsius, while the highest temperature will reach 27-29 degrees Celsius.
According to the meteorological center, from April 1 to 4, the Northern region is likely to experience the first widespread heat wave of the year.
Specifically, in Hanoi during these days, the weather will be mostly clear with hot temperatures, reaching a maximum of 35 degrees Celsius, peaking at 36 degrees Celsius on April 2.
Weather forecasts for April indicate that the Northern region will only see a few occurrences of weak cold air, with little chance of prolonged cold spells.
