It is advisable to massage your legs after soaking them in warm water. |
You may feel additional heaviness in your body when walking with swollen legs. Many cases involve pain due to swollen ankles and feet, sometimes accompanied by varicose veins in the thighs and calves, making movement difficult.
If you find yourself in this situation, soak your feet in cool water to help relax and keep your legs in the most comfortable resting position whenever possible. Gently massage your feet to improve blood circulation. Avoid standing for too long. Pay attention to your footwear. Typically, by the sixth month of pregnancy, your daily shoes may feel a bit tight, and your feet will continue to swell until delivery. Feet generally return to normal size about one month after giving birth. Therefore, it is advisable to buy a few pairs of wider shoes or sandals for your pregnancy. Note that high-heeled shoes should be avoided to prevent slipping.
Can pregnant women prevent swollen legs at the end of pregnancy? Yes, it is possible if you maintain an average weight, avoid excessive weight gain during pregnancy, limit prolonged standing, and dedicate about two hours each day to resting with your legs elevated.
