Cornice is set to unveil its new Dragon memory card line, featuring larger storage capacities while maintaining a smaller size, at the CES 2006 – the annual international consumer electronics show – next week.
Cornice has announced that the Dragon memory cards will have storage capacities of 8GB and 10GB, as opposed to the current offerings of 4GB and 6GB. Additionally, these new memory cards will be thinner and more compact, measuring approximately 60% of the size of existing memory cards.
This advancement will allow electronics manufacturers to create music players, handheld devices with integrated cameras, and mobile phones that support smaller memory card sizes.
Hard drive manufacturers are now competing with flash memory technology to accommodate smaller devices. According to Cornice, the new memory card line will be the smallest available on the market, priced at $18.50 per GB.
