Two Eagles Take Advantage of a Stranded Fawn Left Behind by Its Herd.

On a serene morning in Kgalagadi, Tony Ferri spotted a herd of antelope. Notably, among them was a fawn struggling to stand due to a deformity. The herd attempted to help the small member stand up but was unsuccessful.
The herd gathered around the fawn for about 30 minutes. However, they faced a difficult decision. One by one, they began to leave reluctantly.
Antelope are known for their close-knit bonds, relying on unity to thrive. They communicate and stay close, working together to find food, water, and avoid predators. Their coordinated actions and continuous vigilance demonstrate the power of solidarity in overcoming obstacles and ensuring collective survival.
From a distance, an eagle noticed the situation. Seizing the opportunity for an easy meal, the eagle swooped down in an instant.
“While one eagle watched the fawn trying to escape, the second eagle swooped in to determine its fate. The fawn was too small and weak to defend itself, quickly becoming a meal for the predator. The deformity in its legs made things even more challenging for it,” said Tony Ferri.
