A stunning 45,000-year-old white jade bracelet and many other astonishing pieces of jewelry have recently been excavated from the Denisova Cave – a cave associated with other hominins.
According to Siberia Times, a significant amount of jewelry was unearthed from the Denisova Cave in 2021 alone, revealing not only invaluable treasures but also the incredible craftsmanship of extinct hominin species.

The most captivating – as described by archaeologists – among the newly discovered jewelry is a beautifully crafted jade bracelet that is indistinguishable from modern jade bracelets. Made from white jade, the bracelet glimmers with a light green hue in sunlight and a deep emerald color in the shade.

According to Dr. Alexander Fedorchenko from the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology in Novosibirsk (Russia), the research team also discovered delicate bone pins made from mammoth ivory, polished at the tips; believed to have been used to fasten clothing together, similar to how modern women use brooches, or even as hairpins!

They also found an exquisite jade ring and another ring that had been recycled into a pendant.
Previously, many other intricate pieces of jewelry had been discovered in this cave, where archaeologists found traces of the Denisovans and Neanderthals, two other hominin species closely related to Homo sapiens that have since become extinct.
