A Lucky Animal Escapes Death Thanks to a Dispute Between Two Fearsome Predators in Africa.
Wild nature is always filled with fascinating events. Even when caught by fierce beasts, small creatures often find a chance to survive in various situations.
A video recorded in Kruger National Park (South Africa) captures the fortunate moment when an impala escapes the clutches of a deadly python. What makes it even more interesting is that its “savior” is also a fearsome predator in Africa.
The video begins with an impala being tightly constricted by a South African python, struggling to break free. Without any intervention, the impala would surely meet its demise at the hands of the cold-blooded “hunter.”
However, the alarm calls from other impalas in the herd attracted the attention of a nearby hyena. The hyena stealthily approached, ready as always to snatch the prey from another hunter.
This time, luck was on the side of the impala. The presence of a “third party” awakened the python’s instinct to defend itself. In an instant, it loosened its grip on the prey and turned its head towards the new “threat.”
Seizing the opportunity, the impala sprang off the ground to escape the python’s grasp and quickly ran away while the two predators were still in confusion.
Hyena accidentally “rescues” impala from deadly python.
In fact, there are quite a few instances where hyenas unintentionally become saviors of unfortunate animals when they are captured by other predators. This occurs due to the cunning and daring nature of hyenas, which makes them unable to wait for the “battle” to conclude, always ready to swoop in and steal the prey.
However, it cannot be denied that hyenas are a constant threat to other wildlife on the savanna. When encountering them, most animal species tend to hesitate and retreat to preserve their lives.
Animal researchers have yet to determine the limits of hyena intelligence, as they live in their own society with complex rules. They are even considered among the smartest creatures on the savanna, surpassing other carnivores like lions and leopards.
Hyenas demonstrate this by often trailing behind the aforementioned predators, patiently waiting to steal food for survival. In confrontations with enemies, hyenas rarely fall victim due to their daring nature, sharp teeth, and overwhelming numbers.
Additionally, hyenas possess special abilities, such as tracking and exploiting scavengers like vultures to locate successful hunting spots.
