From a place known as the “paradise island,” Hawaii has now been reduced to ruins following a devastating wildfire.
Starting on August 8, Maui Island in the Hawaiian archipelago (USA) has been suffering from a horrific wildfire that has rapidly spread due to strong winds. Over the past two days, the Coast Guard in the area has rescued dozens of people in the town of Lahaina after they were forced to jump into the water to escape the flames and smoke.
The fire spreads, engulfing the island due to strong winds.
Maui Mayor Richard Bissen Jr. reported that at least 6 people have died and dozens have sustained serious injuries in this devastation. Currently, more than 2,100 residents are using 5 shelters to temporarily escape the wildfire. However, Lieutenant Governor Sylvia Luke stated that some shelters are now overwhelmed.
