In Hai Phong, yesterday, the avian influenza outbreak was reported in 5 farms across 4 communes and wards in An Lao, Vinh Bao, An Duong districts, and Le Chan district, resulting in the death of 70 chickens and 935 ducks. The total number of poultry destroyed is 2,900 chickens and 5,120 ducks.
On November 30, the flu outbreak also emerged in 2 poultry farms in Yen Thanh commune, Uong Bi town (Quang Ninh), causing 317 ducks to die. The total number of poultry destroyed is 917 ducks.
The avian influenza has re-emerged in Hai Phong since November 7 and in Quang Ninh since November 21.
Previously, the Department of Animal Health reported that 2 poultry farms in Du town, Phu Luong district, and Tan Quang commune in Song Cong district (Thai Nguyen) also experienced outbreaks, resulting in 274 chickens dying. The total number of poultry destroyed is 1,402 chickens and 29 ducks. This locality is currently awaiting test results.
Thus, currently, there are 199 communes and wards in 69 districts, towns, and cities across 17 provinces and cities where outbreaks have occurred within the last 21 days. Hung Yen, Phu Tho, Thai Binh, Hoa Binh, and Long An are provinces that have not reported any new outbreaks in the past 16 days; Bac Giang has not reported outbreaks in the past 9 days.
From October 1 to now, the total number of poultry destroyed is 1.91 million (including poultry destroyed in urban and suburban areas). More than 168 million doses of vaccines have been administered to poultry.
