Thanks to its quick reflexes and sharp claws, the cat did not give the snake a chance to survive.
Recently, a clip of a domestic cat battling a venomous snake has gone viral on social media, capturing widespread attention.
In the clip, the cat is seen attacking the snake with its front paws. Faced with the relentless onslaught from its opponent, the snake threatens with its mouth wide open. However, the cat shows no signs of fear; instead, it retreats slightly to gain momentum and launches powerful “swipes” that leave its opponent staggering.
At one point, it seemed the snake had bitten the cat’s leg, but the agile feline quickly dodged the attack. Realizing it could not win, the snake attempted to flee but was continuously attacked by the cat.
Notably, the cat did not allow the snake a moment to recover. Ultimately, when the snake was exhausted, the cat pressed its paw onto the snake’s head and bit down to drag it away. The cat’s method of attack surprised many, as it perfectly executed the strategy of “strike the head when attacking a snake.”

The video capturing this intense confrontation immediately went viral upon its release on social media.
“The speed of the cat’s attack is truly amazing,” “The strikes are too quick, too dangerous.” were among the comments left by viewers.
Cats are carnivorous creatures, and their prey typically includes small animals such as mice, snakes, frogs, and fish. Their hunting weapon of choice is their sharp retractable claws, which are over 1 cm long, crescent-shaped, and pointed.
The claws of cats are quite formidable when hunting their prey. To catch its target, a cat usually approaches from a distance of about 5 to 6 meters. It then lowers its body close to the ground, fixating its gaze on the prey, and quietly moves closer.
When within a distance it feels confident about, the cat unleashes its final burst of strength by propelling itself forward with its hind legs, extending its sharp claws to swipe at the prey.
This impressive and effective hunting method is followed by the cat biting the head of its prey until it dies before releasing it.
