On October 19, the Government Office announced: The Prime Minister has recently decided to invest in the Vietnam Vinasat telecommunications satellite launch project.
The Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group will prepare a bidding plan, transfer the appraisal, and submit it to the Prime Minister for approval. The Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications have been tasked with organizing, appraising, and implementing the project in a synchronized manner once it has been approved.
The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications will also coordinate frequency allocation and complete international legal procedures regarding Vietnam’s sovereignty over the orbital position at 132 degrees East to expedite the satellite launch.
