Recently, Maxtor, a leading manufacturer of computer hard drives, introduced its new line of external hard drives, the OneTouch II. This product line is designed to help Mac and PC users increase their storage capacity and facilitate backups.
The OneTouch II series offers a maximum capacity of up to 1TB, with prices ranging from $159.95 to $899.95, depending on the drive’s capacity. Some models from this product line are expected to hit the market by the end of this month.
The OneTouch III currently comes in three versions – a USB 2.0 version, a FireWire 400 version, and a FireWire 800 version.
The noise reduction feature of the OneTouch III has also been significantly improved to minimize operational noise. Additionally, the shock resistance feature helps protect the drive’s mechanism.
The accompanying software has been upgraded to enhance the backup interface, synchronization, and file storage capabilities. The Maxtor Drivelock software allows users to secure their data with a password.
All three versions of the OneTouch III are set to be officially available in the market by the end of the first quarter of 2006.
