The meal described as having a “sky-high” price point is located at an altitude of 30 kilometers above sea level, which may seem exclusive, but dozens of people have expressed interest in this experience.
A Michelin-star dining experience in space with a price tag of $495,000 (approximately 12.3 billion VND) is attracting affluent individuals.
SpaceVIP, one of the first luxury space travel companies, has announced it will organize a space dining experience featuring renowned Danish chef Rasmus Munk.

Six guests, dubbed explorers, will “make history” by enjoying a once-in-a-lifetime meal at an altitude of 30 kilometers above sea level during a journey lasting approximately six hours.
According to the organizers, Chef Munk will serve his meal aboard the world’s first carbon-neutral spacecraft named Spaceship Neptune. The trip is scheduled to launch at the end of 2025 from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA.
At an altitude of over 30 kilometers above sea level, the group will have access to Wi-Fi on the spacecraft. They can even livestream their experience for family and friends back on Earth to enjoy throughout the flight.
This experience also offers travelers the chance to witness the moment of sunrise over Earth in a way that ordinary people have never experienced.
According to Roman Chiporukha, the founder of SpaceVIP, the chef will serve dishes inspired by “the role of space exploration over the past 60 years.” The meal’s menu is still being finalized. The Danish chef has revealed that he aims to create innovative and creative dishes that reflect the upcoming journey.

“The dishes will involve super-light and airy materials. They will all have a delightful aroma,” said the 32-year-old chef.
Despite the price reaching half a million dollars, as soon as it was announced to the public, dozens of high-end clients expressed their interest. However, the trip is limited to a maximum of six guests to ensure safety.
“We know this is a very expensive journey. But it is the first time a Michelin-star meal will be taken to space. We plan to organize many similar trips in the future,” said the founder of SpaceVIP.
It is worth noting that SpaceVIP is not the first luxury travel company to offer travelers the chance to enjoy a meal in space.
Earlier in 2023, the French company Zaphalto also introduced an experience of dining in the stratosphere. For this service, guests must pay starting from $132,000 per person (3.2 billion VND). This service is also expected to commence in 2025.
