From March to April 2020 alone, there were 192 reported UFO sightings in Yorkshire, England. In total, more than 200 UFO encounters have been recorded in this area over the years.
UFO sightings in Yorkshire have been reported since the 1990s.
The most recent UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) encounter occurred on June 9 of this year in Leeds, West Yorkshire, when two thin, black, elongated triangular shapes were seen flying above and then stopping in mid-air around 12:55 PM, according to Yorkshire Live.
The white triangular UFO spotted in Yorkshire caused a stir.
Brian, a local paranormal investigator, claims to have encountered several UFOs while exploring abandoned buildings at night.
According to the Daily Mail, local investigators, including Brian, believe that the abundance of abandoned military bases in Yorkshire may be the reason this area has become a “UFO hotspot.”
“They (UFOs) are drawn to Yorkshire because the peaks we are located at are significantly higher than other regions in the country. Additionally, there is ample space along with numerous old, abandoned military bases that are no longer in use,” Brian stated.
“There are hundreds of military bases, bunkers, and Royal Air Force (RAF) airfields… that are abandoned. Many such locations are not well-known because they are well-hidden,” Brian added.
“These locations are mainly visited by urban explorers, paranormal enthusiasts who come to film, or history lovers who believe in UFOs and want to explore,” Brian further explained.
The investigator also mentioned that just a few weeks ago, his team discovered 4 UFOs in one night. Brian believes they cannot be commercial aircraft “because they were flying in a straight line right next to each other.”
Ellen Dean, who lives in the village of Fearby, also revealed that she witnessed mysterious lights in her backyard in March 2020 and believes that the light was not from a low-flying aircraft from the RAF or a lantern.
Ash Ellis, a local conspiracy theorist and owner of the UFO Identified website, which specializes in posting stories and reports about UFOs, also thinks that Yorkshire’s numerous military bases could attract UFOs.
UFO does not necessarily mean alien spacecraft; it simply refers to unexplained phenomena or objects.
“History shows that UFOs are often seen around military bases or nuclear facilities. Therefore, if they are making a ‘reconnaissance’ visit, they may be particularly interested in our weapons and technology,” Ellis speculated.
However, Ellis also noted that UFOs do not necessarily mean alien spacecraft; they could be anything that has yet to be identified.
