Since 1992, the Russian company “Diagnostics-M” has specialized in the development and production of modern and effective equipment for baggage screening and anti-terrorism security systems. The company’s products, known under the TSNK brand, are utilized in locations requiring heightened security measures.
These include customs agencies, postal services, train stations, airports, subway stations, stadiums, offices, shopping centers, and checkpoints at facilities with national security regulations, as well as prisons.
In an exclusive interview with Sputnik, Ms. Evgenia Vermel, the international business specialist at Diagnostics-M, shared insights about the company’s core expertise: “Our main specialization is X-ray imaging equipment for counter-terrorism protection and non-destructive testing of industrial products, building structures, and welds. When it comes to anti-terrorism equipment, we manufacture various products ranging from relatively small baggage scanners to large systems capable of scanning trucks, cargo containers, and even railway shipments. As our company has a full production cycle, we can ensure flexibility in manufacturing, which means we can create equipment that meets specific customer needs,” Ms. Evgenia Vermel explained.
At the same time, according to Ms. Evgenia Vermel, the company also produces security devices that do not involve X-rays. For example, the M-ION handheld device is designed to detect and identify explosives in both vapor and particulate forms (traces). In just 2 seconds, the detector can identify the type of explosive (such as gunpowder, TNT, nitroglycerin, hexogen, ammonium nitrate, or other modern and complex explosives), emit an audio signal, and display information on an integrated screen. The device weighs only 2 kg.

Additionally, there is the DIANON device – a vapor explosive detector integrated with a radiation meter, capable of detecting ionizing gamma radiation and determining its dose rate. All data is displayed on the integrated screen and can also be transmitted to external devices such as computers, tablets, or even smartphones.
The company’s product catalog includes a unique system known as Radar IQ – a high-precision perimeter protection system that rarely issues false alarms. It employs three components – radar technology, video analysis, and artificial intelligence – to detect perimeter violations early, including all types of UAVs: “Radar IQ can extend beyond the protected area, accurately identify what is approaching the perimeter, confirm real alarms (for example, distinguishing a drone from a bird), and display real-time images and precise locations of the flying object,” noted Ms. Evgenia Vermel. Thanks to this, the Radar IQ system operator has time to make a final decision and relay coordinates to the rapid response team to neutralize the intruder.

Devices for counter-terrorism are being produced in many countries to address such issues. When asked about the competitiveness of “Diagnostics-M” compared to foreign partners, expert Evgenia Vermel responded: “We regularly design and promptly manufacture unique devices that have no similar products in the international market. We continuously receive feedback from customers, taking their wishes into account to improve specifications and expand device functionality. Many of our innovations are based on this. In other words, we quickly do exactly what users need right now, far ahead of our competitors.”
In the context of the sanctions imposed by the “collective West”, a pressing issue for the Russian industry is the replacement of imported components. How is “Diagnostics-M” addressing this challenge?
“Currently, there are no issues with components; supply is uninterrupted. Moreover, our products are successfully replacing imported goods, at least in the Russian market,” noted expert Evgenia Vermel.

According to the international business specialist at Diagnostics-M, business operations are not limited to the domestic market. TSNK brand equipment is used in over 30 countries across all continents except Australia. The company’s products are also well-known in the Asia-Pacific region.
