Through the analysis of blood samples from 13 families across 12 European countries, the Global Fund for Nature has discovered 73 types of harmful chemicals that can affect human health due to contact with household items. Moreover, the risk of children being exposed to these toxic chemicals is significantly higher than that of adults.
Researchers from the Global Fund for Nature (WWF) conducted an analysis of blood samples from 13 families, with members ranging in age from 12 to 92 years. The study found that all participants had detectable levels of harmful synthetic chemicals in their blood. One of the main causes of this issue is exposure to common household items such as computers, fabrics, cosmetics, and electronic devices.
From this research, scientists concluded that humans have inadvertently become victims of unsafe manufactured products and devices. Notably, these harmful chemicals can easily enter the bloodstream of children.
Additionally, researchers are concerned about the potential surge of cancer cases in future generations due to endocrine disruption and the gradual accumulation of toxic chemicals in the body over multiple generations.
For this reason, the Global Fund for Nature is launching a campaign urging the European Union to implement stricter regulations on manufacturers regarding the use of toxic chemicals in the production of consumer goods.
