It is estimated that around 50,000 to 100,000 pilgrims visit the temple daily, with numbers soaring to 500,000 during special festival days. This is the site dedicated to Lord Venkateswara.
In the beliefs of Hinduism, this deity is said to appear to rescue humanity from war. Devotees believe they must visit the Venkateshwara Temple at least once in their lifetime.

To show their devotion, devotees often offer valuable jewelry such as diamonds, gold, precious assets, or cash to Lord Venkateswara.
The Tirupati Balaji Temple began construction around 300 AD. Most of the ruling dynasties in southern India at that time revered the temple by offering extensive amounts of diamonds, gold, and silver.
Today, the temple is over 1,700 years old and possesses a massive fortune. This wealth is managed by a trust fund established by the British. Despite being a globally renowned religious destination, the temple has never undergone an asset inventory.
During the first audit in its over 1,700-year history, representatives of the Venkateshwara Temple announced an asset value reaching $30 billion. It was then that the temple’s wealth became widely known.

Local authorities report that the “sacred site of Hindus” currently holds over 10 tons of gold, 2.5 tons of jewelry, nearly $20 billion in bank deposits, and 960 properties spread across India. This amount is even comparable to Nestle India, the national corporation for oil and natural gas, and key banks in India.
Parsa Venkateshwara, a devout follower, shared with the Hindustan Times: “Devotees from all over come here during special occasions. People even visit many times.”
Local media speculate that the wealth of the Venkateshwara Temple was accumulated over a long period, particularly during the Vijayanagara Empire from 1336 to 1565. During this time, wealthy devotees frequently made offerings of diamonds, gold, and precious jewelry.

The emperor of that time was also a regular visitor to the Venkateshwara Temple. He expressed his devotion to Lord Venkateswara by gilding the temple’s roof, offering many valuable items, and placing a statue of himself there.
Previously, in November 2011, an event occurred at the temple that caused a stir both within and outside India. The temple management expressed their surprise upon discovering 100 diamonds worth millions of rupees in the donation box. In addition to these diamonds, there were about 60 other precious stones.
The ancient temple has long been a refuge for billionaires and wealthy entrepreneurs making offerings. However, the sheer volume of these donations has amazed many.
