A deep hole with a diameter of over 10 meters unexpectedly appeared in a fish pond in On Hung village, Thien Phuc town, Bac Bac district, Chongqing city, causing fish and water to disappear overnight.

This strange story was recorded and published on March 14. Immediately, Chinese media reached out to the owner of the fish pond.
Mr. Li stated: “My family has several fish ponds, and recently we gathered all the fish from these ponds (approximately 20,000 fish) into this one pond for breeding. On the morning of March 14, when I went to the pond, I found the water had completely drained, the fish were gone, and a large hole had appeared. By around 11 AM, the house right next to the hole showed signs of subsidence, fortunately, no one was injured.”
Mr. Li also mentioned: “Three years ago, there was a large hole 20 meters from the fish pond, and another hole appeared 50 meters away.”
According to Mr. Li, the area around the town was once a coal mining site, and it is likely that the subsidence phenomenon is due to the impact of mining activities.
Immediately after receiving the report, local authorities and relevant departments began an investigation. Experts equipped with monitoring devices and drones were deployed to assess the depth of the hole. They indicated that it would take about two weeks to get results.
