This is a battle between a Tokay gecko and its prey, but it ends tragically for the predator.
A Tokay gecko (scientific name: Gekko gecko) was spotted by a green tree snake (scientific name: Ahaetulla prasina) while it was clinging to a tall tree. The snake climbed the tree to actively attack this prey.
However, the snake did not realize that this action would come at a high cost. The green tree snake possesses mild venom, so its bite was not enough to incapacitate the Tokay gecko. On the contrary, the gecko retaliated fiercely.
The Tokay gecko bites the snake’s neck.
It bit down hard on the snake’s neck, which is the Tokay gecko’s signature move. Both then fell to the ground together, but the gecko did not let go of the green tree snake. As a result, it took a considerable amount of time for them to separate, with the snake suffering the most severe injuries.
