“MusiCure” is a method represented in the form of a pillow that can help soldiers deployed in Kosovo and Iraq sleep better and relax.
Inside the pillow is embedded a program that harmonizes everyday ambient sounds with soothing musical compositions. Danish scientists who invented these Music Pillows hope that in the future, alongside weapons and helmets, music pillows will become part of soldiers’ gear.
Currently still in the testing phase, 10 of these miraculous pillows have just been sent to 340 Danish soldiers from the Peacekeeping Force stationed in Kosovo. According to the orders of Colonel Helmer Hansen, military physician at this location, each soldier is only allowed to keep the pillow for two weeks before returning it to their comrades.
Danish scientists state that by resting their heads on this unique pillow and listening to the gentle music emanating from it, soldiers will no longer be distracted by troubling thoughts and will instead imagine beautiful natural scenes such as beaches, hills, forests, and mountains, allowing them to drift off to sleep easily with a light heart.
In fact, the MultiCure pillow (is the MusiCure pillow derived from this?) has been an initiative for nearly a decade and has already been applied in psychiatric hospitals. Doctors in these hospitals are aware of the effectiveness of this miraculous pillow with patients recovering from surgery, enabling them to regain their health quickly without the need for excessive medication.
The only downside is that the MusiCure pillow is somewhat bulky, taking up a considerable amount of space in a soldier’s backpack.
