The meteorological agency has reported that by noon today, at the latest by this afternoon (September 15), the super typhoon will enter the northeastern region of the South China Sea. The typhoon is classified as level 14 (150-165 km/h), with gusts reaching level 17.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, early this morning (September 15), super typhoon Mangkhut made landfall on the northern part of Luzon Island in the Philippines.
The center of the super typhoon is currently over the northern region of Luzon Island. The strongest winds near the center of the typhoon are at level 16 (185-200 km/h), with gusts exceeding level 17.

Today and tonight, the super typhoon will move slightly northwest, at a speed of about 25 km/h. The meteorological agency confirms that around noon and this afternoon, the super typhoon will enter the northeastern region of the South China Sea.
By early morning on September 16, the center of the typhoon will be approximately 610 km southeast of the Leizhou Peninsula in China. The typhoon will remain at level 14 (150-165 km/h), with gusts reaching level 17. The area of strong winds at level 6, with gusts at level 8 or higher, will extend approximately 400 km from the typhoon’s center. The area of winds at level 10 or higher will extend about 200 km from the typhoon’s center.
Due to the impact of the typhoon, the northeastern waters of the South China Sea will experience heavy rain and strong winds gradually increasing to levels 11-12, with areas near the typhoon’s center experiencing winds at levels 14-15, gusts exceeding level 17.
In the next 24 to 48 hours, the typhoon will maintain its direction and speed. By early morning on September 17, the typhoon’s center will be over the southeastern region of Guangxi Province in China. The strongest winds near the typhoon’s center will be at level 12 (115-135 km/h), with gusts reaching level 15.

After that, the typhoon will gradually weaken into a tropical depression. By early morning on September 18, the center of the tropical depression will be over the mountainous northern region. The strongest winds near the center of the tropical depression will be at level 6, with gusts at level 8.
From September 17 to 19, the circulation of the typhoon will bring heavy rain to the Northern and North Central regions. Rainfall in the northeastern provinces will range from 200-300 mm, with some mountainous areas exceeding 300 mm; the Northwest region and Thanh Hoa will see rainfall between 100-200 mm.
