Due to the belief that “ten people, nine suffer from hemorrhoids,” the treasure trove of traditional Eastern medicine for treating hemorrhoids is both rich and effective. You can refer to several remedies and acupressure techniques for treating this condition.

Kong Tui Point |
The main acupressure points selected are Baihui, Shanglian, Kong Tui, Chengshan, and Fuliu.
Kong Tui is the acupoint of the Hand Taiyin Lung Meridian, located near the elbow, 7 cun (Chinese measurement) above the wrist (if measuring from the wrist line to the elbow crease, which is 12 cun, this point is 7/12 of that distance).
Baihui is located at the very top of the head, at the intersection of the midline and the line connecting the two peaks of the ears.

Zu San Li Point |
According to ancient texts, Baihui is where the six internal organs converge and is effective in raising the yang energy that is weakened.
Zu San Li is an acupoint belonging to the Stomach Meridian, located near the knee, about 3 cun from the outer knee hollow, roughly the width of a hand. When combined with the Chengshan point, it helps to relieve stagnation of energy in the stomach and intestines. Ancient practitioners believed that if the stomach and intestines are harmonized, toxins are cleared, and diseases like dysentery and hemorrhoids will be resolved.
Chengshan is an acupoint belonging to the Bladder Meridian, located in the calf, at the depression between the two gastrocnemius muscles, which becomes prominent when the calf is contracted. In traditional Eastern medicine, Chengshan helps cool the blood, regulate the energy of the organs, and treat hemorrhoids and rectal prolapse.
Shanglian is an acupoint of the Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian, located 3 cun below the outer crease of the elbow.
Simple Herbal Remedies
Eat a few ripe guavas daily after peeling the skin. You will notice the benefits of this remedy. Eating the skin may cause constipation, but peeling it results in a laxative effect.
Fresh Portulaca oleracea (purslane), washed and crushed, can be applied to the anus where hemorrhoids are swollen and protruding.
For treating swollen, painful, cracked, or prolapsed rectum: Mix one handful each of tamarind and Portulaca oleracea, and one small piece of soapberry, crush them, boil in water, and use for soaking and washing 1-2 times a day.
