10 Outstanding Individuals and 20 Exemplary Female Students Awarded the Golden Globe for Their Achievements in Science and Technology.
On the evening of November 27, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Ministry of Science and Technology presented the Golden Globe Youth Science and Technology Awards and the Female Student in Science and Technology Awards for 2022. This annual award aims to discover and honor young talents under 35 years of age who have made significant contributions in the field of science and technology.
The award council selected 10 exemplary individuals from 37 candidates to honor in five fields: Information Technology, Digital Transformation and Automation (3 awards), Medical and Pharmaceutical Technology (2 awards), Biotechnology (1 award), Environmental Technology (2 awards), and New Material Technology (2 awards).

According to the organizers, this year’s awards featured many young scientists living, studying, and working at prestigious educational institutions worldwide. Many individuals lead national and international scientific research projects, with practical applications yielding high efficiency. Numerous scientific works and high-quality publications in Q1 journals, along with patents and utility solutions, have received medals at both domestic and international levels.

Each award recipient receives the “Creative Youth” badge from the Central Committee of the Youth Union, a Golden Globe trophy, a certificate, and a cash prize of 20 million VND.
The organizing committee also selected 20 outstanding individuals to receive the Vietnam Female Student in Science and Technology Award. Since 2022, the Central Committee of the Youth Union has expanded the award to include 15 training fields in strategic national priority science and technology areas, focusing on the development of digital technology applications and artificial intelligence (AI) to actively participate in the fourth industrial revolution and promote national digital transformation. The female students also receive a certificate of merit from the Central Committee of the Youth Union, a trophy, and a cash prize of 5 million VND. By 2022, a total of 719 female students have been awarded this prize.

The award has been organized annually since 2003 by the Central Committee of the Youth Union in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology. After 19 years, 194 outstanding individuals from both domestic and international backgrounds have received the award.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Secretary of the Central Youth Union Nguyễn Minh Triết stated that the Golden Globe Science and Technology Award and the Vietnam Female Student in Science and Technology Award have become an eagerly awaited scientific platform for young people passionate about science and technology. He noted that the evaluation criteria are specifically quantified, aligning with international standards for scientific publications while closely adhering to the practical reality of science and technology in Vietnam. It also provides a comprehensive assessment of scientists based on their achievements and contributions to training and nurturing human resources and their spirit of dedication to the community.
He hopes that the honored individuals will continue to make relentless efforts to write beautiful stories, pursue great ambitions, and fulfill their aspirations in science and technology, as well as their responsibilities to the country and its people. “I hope you empathize and share in the challenges and difficulties faced by our country in general and the domestic scientific research environment in particular to strive for progress,” the Secretary of the Central Youth Union said.
10 Recipients of the Golden Globe Award 2022 Dr. Lương Văn Thiện (30 years old), lecturer at the Faculty of Information Technology, Head of the AIoT Lab research group at Phenikaa University, in the field of information technology, digital transformation, and automation, with 19 international publications, 10 international conference papers, and one scientific product applied in practice. Dr. Lê Thanh Long (34 years old), lecturer at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Science and Technology, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, in the field of information technology, digital transformation, and automation, with 11 international publications, 10 international conference papers, 4 project programs, and one monograph, winning first place in the Outstanding Vietnamese Scientific Researcher Competition in Taiwan in 2016. Dr. Lê Phạm Tuyên (32 years old), Head of the Algorithm Research Group at AgileSoDA, South Korea, in the field of information technology, digital transformation, and automation, with 10 patents protected in South Korea, 7 international publications, and 20 international conference papers. Dr. Trần Ngọc Đăng (34 years old), Deputy Director of the Project Support and Innovation Center at University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City, in the field of medical and pharmaceutical technology, with 60 international publications and participation in 5 scientific research projects. Dr. Phan Lê Minh Tú (33 years old), Deputy Head of the Functional Medicine – Medical Testing Department, Faculty of Medicine – Pharmacy, University of Da Nang, in the field of medical and pharmaceutical technology, with 27 international publications and 1 outstanding scientific report at an international conference. Dr. Chu Đức Hà (34 years old), lecturer at the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, in the field of biotechnology, with 3 patents, 1 national utility solution patent, 20 international publications, and 14 international conference papers. Dr. Trương Lâm Sơn Hải (35 years old), lecturer at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, in the field of environmental technology, with 2 national patents, 7 international publications, and leading 1 local research project. Dr. Nguyễn Duy Đạt (34 years old), lecturer at the Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, in the field of environmental technology, with 22 publications in international journals, 5 international conference papers, and leading 1 local research project. Dr. Lê Thị Phương (34 years old), Institute of Applied Materials Science, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), in the field of new material technology, with 1 international patent, 2 national patents, 27 international publications, and 5 international conference papers.
