On the afternoon of June 25, at 76 Han Thuyen, Hue City, the Hue Imperial City Monument Conservation Center collaborated with the Hanoi Fossil Museum to organize the exhibition “Fossils – The Journey to Explore the Origins of Life on Earth.”
This is the first large-scale fossil exhibition held in Vietnam and at the Hue Festival, aimed at serving tourists who wish to visit and admire.

The leader of the Hanoi Fossil Museum stated that after two years of searching and collecting, the museum has gathered over 14,000 specimens, including 2,500 tons of petrified wood from around the world, which is considered an invaluable treasure of the paleontology sector in the country. The establishment of the Hanoi Fossil Museum marks the beginning of a journey to seek, preserve, and revive the complete story of the natural history of life on Earth, the origins of life, and the evolutionary process of living organisms from hundreds of millions of years ago.

With the desire to preserve, maintain, and continue to develop the valuable field of paleontological research, the Hanoi Fossil Museum collaborated with the Hue Imperial City Monument Conservation Center to showcase hundreds of fossil specimens as part of the Hue Festival Week 2022. For the first time, the ancient paleontological region will be recreated within the framework of the Hue Festival, allowing visitors to explore the natural history of Earth spanning hundreds of millions of years through fossil specimens; about the birth, evolution, and extinction of many species that existed hundreds of millions of years ago.

Professor Dr. Ta Hoa Phuong, President of the Vietnam Paleontology and Stratigraphy Society, shared: “The Hanoi Fossil Museum is currently the first and only fossil museum in Vietnam, with the mission of collecting and preserving a special natural resource of the country, which is fossils – traces of life in our nation hundreds of millions of years ago.”
