The electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft produced by Lilium is set to be sold to private customers in Texas and beyond.
Lilium, the developer of the first electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft capable of carrying seven passengers, has announced the sale of its vehicles to private customers in the U.S. market, in partnership with EMCJET, an aircraft management and brokerage company. EMCJET will serve as Lilium’s exclusive dealer in Texas until 2030. Lilium aims to be the first to deliver eVTOL models to private customers in the United States through its collaboration with EMCJET. EMCJET will offer the Lilium Pioneer Edition Jets to individuals looking to purchase these aircraft domestically, as reported by Design Boom on October 20th.

The Lilium Jet will be available across the United States, initially focusing on major cities in Texas, including Austin, Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas. The first version available for private customers worldwide is the Lilium Pioneer Edition Jets. This aircraft is designed for regional travel with low noise levels, high performance, and zero emissions.
Previously, on October 12th, Lilium announced that it had completed the high-voltage wiring system for the Lilium Jet. This patented system in the U.S. and Europe is a crucial component that ensures safety and power distribution for the aircraft model. The wiring system, designed by Lilium, is manufactured by its partner GKN Aerospace, which specializes in wiring integration, and the connector supplier Rosenberger. It acts as the aircraft’s electrical circuit, with neatly organized cable bundles. The cables will transmit power from the battery (located on the side of the aircraft) to the motors (located in the wings).
Lilium stated that the wiring is very lightweight, so it does not add extra weight to the aircraft. It is also capable of handling high voltages over 90 volts, allowing the Lilium Jet to fly efficiently and safely. Back in June 2023, Lilium announced that it was the only eVTOL manufacturer authorized by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to operate its aircraft.
The full-scale version of the Lilium Jet is designed to carry one pilot and six passengers, primarily operating within and between metropolitan areas, covering distances of 40 to 201 kilometers at speeds of 300 kilometers per hour. Its fixed-wing design features 36 small vectoring fans, setting it apart from the tilting rotor designs commonly seen in competitors’ aircraft.
