On September 28, a Japanese company specializing in robotics launched a new product called the “Roborior Home Robot.” This innovative robot allows its owner to monitor their home from afar.
Roborior is available for approximately $2,600 at five locations across Japan. This robot has the ability to move in all directions and lights up when it receives simple commands from a mobile phone. Its charming design also makes it a potential decorative item for the home. However, the primary purpose of Roborior is to function as a mobile device equipped with a camera, allowing users to see what it observes, no matter where they are.
Youichi Takamoto, the Chairman of Tmsuk Corporation, stated: “This robot can detect objects within a 5-meter radius or look straight ahead up to 10 meters. As soon as it detects any unusual sounds or an intruder entering the home, the robot will immediately contact your mobile phone.”
Temzack reported that they have received numerous orders. The primary customers are doctors with clinics far from home or families with children or pets that need to be monitored while home alone. However, Roborior does have a slight drawback: its battery life is not very strong. If you keep it moving continuously, the battery will deplete in about one hour.
