A gray francolin (scientific name: Francolinus pondicerianus) has “challenged” a much larger rooster. This francolin was trying to prevent the rooster from approaching another hen.
The surprising outcome as the francolin continuously defeats the rooster in a duel.
The battle was not of equal weight classes, but it ended in a surprising twist as the francolin repeatedly outmatched the rooster in their duel. As a result, the rooster had to flee when faced with such a tenacious opponent.
The gray francolin is a species commonly found in the Indian subcontinent and Iran. During the mating season, males become very aggressive. Despite their modest size (weighing between 200 to 340 grams), they show no fear when confronting larger rivals.
