Da Nang City will have a waste-to-energy plant by 2009 |
The Da Nang City People’s Committee has recently approved the construction of a waste-to-energy plant, funded by ENVIROMONDIAL (Canada), within the city’s area.
This power plant is designed with a capacity of 9 – 36 MW, with a waste residue rate after processing of 0%, ensuring environmental pollution levels are within permissible limits.
The total investment for the project is approximately 15 – 65 million USD (100% foreign capital), covering an area of 15,000 m². Currently, the Da Nang Department of Construction is collaborating with the Investment Promotion Center to survey suitable locations for construction, while also guiding the investor in assessing the city’s waste treatment situation to develop an operational plan for the plant once construction is completed.
It is expected that the waste-to-energy plant in Da Nang will commence construction in 2006 and officially be put into operation in 2009.
