After a period of operation on land with various roles, the famous Vision 60 robotic dog from Ghost Robotics can now swim in water.

According to Ghost Robotics, for many years, the Vision 60 robotic dog has assisted military forces, law enforcement agencies, and enterprise clients on land. Now, with the addition of the NAUT water jet propulsion system at its tail, it can also undertake dangerous underwater operations.
Notably, the Vision 60s is equipped with the NAUT system, which appears to not use its four legs when submerged, instead relying entirely on the jet stream from its rear nozzle for propulsion and steering.
According to industrial equipment provider Onyx Industries, responsible for creating the “tail” for the Vision 60s, the NAUT propulsion system transforms any platform rated IP67 or higher—from robots to small boats—into a remotely controlled or automatically activated system for underwater use.
IP67 is a specific rating within the Ingress Protection (IP) code, which is internationally recognized and indicates how well electronic devices are protected against water and other intrusions. This equipment is dust-tight and can be submerged in water at depths greater than 1 meter.

With the NAUT propulsion system, the Vision 60s can scout conditions along riverbanks or lakes; identify safe routes through obstacles such as mines or other hazards… This capability can support military operations, law enforcement activities, or other roles in aquatic environments.
