Insufficient Brake Fluid Leading to Worn Brake Pads
It is obvious that when brake pads wear down, the fluid in the master cylinder reservoir will decrease. However, if the brake pads are in good condition but there is a lack of fluid, it indicates that there is a leak somewhere in the system. The connection points or the area linking the stationary and moving parts of the brake line are typically the most vulnerable.
It is also necessary to check for leaks at the rear of the master cylinder. If fluid is present at the gasket, the master cylinder needs to be replaced, but first, check and repair any leaks in the piping.

Excessive Fluid in the Master Cylinder
This phenomenon is caused by a faulty seal. When the driver presses the brake, fluid may flow through the gap in front of the piston, resulting in insufficient brake pressure and causing the brakes to fail to engage.
To resolve this issue, you need to take the vehicle to a garage for inspection and repair.
Wheel Hub Play
The wheel hub keeps the wheel in the correct position while it rotates. If it malfunctions, it can cause the brake disc or drum to wobble. When the wheel rotates, it pushes the brake pads inward. Even when the brake pedal reaches the floor, the fluid may not compensate for the gaps in the brake mechanism.
In this situation, you may need to pump the brake pedal 2 or 3 times to allow the system to regain fluid pressure and function normally.
Air Entering the Brake Line
Faulty brake components or wheel cylinders may allow air to enter the brake line when the driver releases the brake. The presence of air bubbles can neutralize brake fluid pressure, leading to brake failure. The system needs to be bled, but before that, the gaps must be addressed to prevent future issues.
In light of the above causes, to handle this situation, drivers should remain calm and use the handbrake or engine braking to stop the vehicle. These methods may operate unpredictably and can be dangerous, depending on the driver’s ability to manage the situation.
