According to experts, during the 5-day holiday, the weather across the country will experience significant fluctuations, with alternating sunshine and rain, making it essential for travelers to stay alert.
In an interview with reporters, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Hưởng – Head of the Weather Forecasting Department (National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting) stated that during the consecutive 5-day holiday (Hung Kings’ Festival, April 30 – May 1), the weather will be highly variable.
From April 28 to the morning of April 30, the northern provinces are likely to be affected by a weak end-of-season cold front. Additionally, with upper-level wind convergence, from the afternoon and evening of April 28 to the morning of April 30, provinces from Nghệ An to Hà Tĩnh may experience widespread showers and thunderstorms. Some areas may see moderate to heavy rain, strong thunderstorms, and risks of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. Afterward, the Northern region and Central provinces will be dry with little rain.
5 consecutive holiday days, the weather across the country will experience significant fluctuations.
The Northwest region and the North and Central regions are expected to experience localized heat from May 1 to May 3.
According to Mr. Nguyễn Văn Hưởng, tourist spots in the North should be aware that around April 28, 29, and the morning of April 30, there is a possibility of showers and thunderstorms; afterward, the weather will be clear with sunshine. From May 1 to May 4, the weather will be relatively favorable.
Tourist destinations in the South, such as Quy Nhơn, Nha Trang, and Đà Lạt, along with the Southern region, will be affected by a hot air mass in the midday and afternoon, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 35 to 36 degrees Celsius.
“Every year in April, the cold air still exerts its influence, so it is normal to have cold air from April to early May. However, there is often a competition between the cold and hot air masses during this time, which can lead to extreme weather events such as tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong winds. With the weather being highly variable in the upcoming period, travelers should pay attention to phenomena like lightning, tornadoes, hail, and strong winds,” emphasized Mr. Nguyễn Văn Hưởng.
