Although it has made landfall and weakened, the tropical depression is causing heavy rain in many areas across the country today, with some places experiencing very heavy rainfall. Attention is needed for flooding and dangerous landslides.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting reported that today, July 16, and in the coming days, the dominant weather across the country will be rain. The heaviest rain will be concentrated in the northern provinces up to the Central Highlands. In contrast, rainfall in the southern region will gradually decrease over the next 1-2 days before a new wave of rain begins.
Specifically, from yesterday afternoon until tomorrow afternoon, the Northern Delta and coastal areas from Thanh Hoa to Quang Tri can expect moderate to heavy rain, with some areas experiencing very heavy rainfall. Rainfall amounts are expected to reach 60-120mm, with some locations exceeding 200mm.

Due to continuous heavy rain, authorities are warning of the possibility of flooding on rivers from Thanh Hoa to Quang Tri. There is also a high risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous regions, as well as flooding in low-lying areas along rivers and urban areas in the provinces from Thanh Hoa to Quang Tri.
The Central Highlands will experience heavy to very heavy rainfall, with amounts between 40-80mm, and some areas exceeding 150mm (with heavy rain concentrated in the afternoon and evening).
The Southern region will have intermittent sunshine during the day, followed by rain showers and heavy rain in the evening.
Today, the tropical depression will weaken into a low-pressure area after making landfall. However, this weather pattern will continue to cause heavy rain on land and at sea.
Offshore areas from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai will experience strong showers and thunderstorms, with winds reaching level 6, gusting up to level 8, leading to rough seas.
In the sea areas from Binh Dinh to Ca Mau and the southern part of the East Sea (including waters around the Spratly Islands), winds will be strong at level 6, gusting to levels 8-9. The sea will be rough.
The northern Gulf of Tonkin will experience winds of level 5, with gusts of level 6. The sea will be rough.
