Despite being severely injured, the zebra struggles to turn around and bites into the neck and back of the crocodile.
This intense scene was captured in the Masai Mara wildlife reserve.
As death approaches, the zebra turns and bites hard into the crocodile’s neck.
Specifically, while wading through the river with its herd, an adult zebra was approached and attacked from behind by a crocodile.
After grabbing the zebra’s leg, the swamp predator executed a “death roll” that nearly severed the zebra’s hind leg. Despite the pain, the zebra used all its strength to move forward. However, it was once again approached by its enemy.
As death loomed, the zebra turned around and bit hard into the neck and back of the crocodile. Caught off guard by the “counterattack,” the crocodile released its prey in pain and temporarily retreated. However, due to its severe injuries, the unfortunate zebra later succumbed to a pack of hungry crocodiles.
Crocodiles are among the most dangerous predators in nature. With their strength and skills, they can attack any animal that comes to drink or swim near rivers and swamps.
Although they appear sluggish, crocodiles are remarkably agile over short distances, even outside of water. They have incredibly strong jaws and sharp teeth for tearing flesh. After delivering a devastating bite, a crocodile drags its victim into the river to drown it. Only once the prey is dead do they begin to enjoy their meal.
