When surrounded by a pack of wolves, adult musk oxen fought back fiercely and calmly. This allowed them to defend themselves for quite some time against the predator’s attacks.
However, when the “fear” took over, the adult oxen fled for their lives, opening up hunting opportunities for the wolves. Just a few minutes later, the wolves easily captured a young, immature ox.

Seeing her calf being caught by the wolves, the mother ox rushed to attack the adversary to rescue her young. However, her misguided attempt to save her calf resulted in the young ox being struck with a powerful blow and injured before becoming a tasty meal for the wolves.
