On the day and night of June 7, the mountainous and midland regions of Northern Vietnam will continue to see heavy rain of 30-60 mm, with some areas recording over 100 mm.
The meteorological agency warns of the risk of flash floods, landslides in the mountainous areas, and localized flooding in low-lying regions. This week, Northern Vietnam will experience continuous rain and thunderstorms due to the influence of a low-pressure trough. This is a widespread heavy rain event expected to last until around June 11-12, with the most concentrated rainfall occurring from late afternoon to night.
The forecast map indicates that over the next 7 days (June 6-12), Hanoi will maintain temperatures between 27-32 degrees Celsius, with more pleasant weather as temperatures decrease. However, thunderstorms will continue throughout this week, along with the risk of tornadoes, lightning, and strong winds.
According to Accuweather, Hanoi and the northern provinces will not experience any dry sunny days this week. The dominant weather in the coming days will be overcast, cloudy, and rainy.
Meanwhile, heatwaves will continue in Central Vietnam, particularly from Quang Binh to Phu Yen. In the coming days, this area is expected to record maximum temperatures of 35-37 degrees Celsius, with some places exceeding 37 degrees Celsius. High temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius will persist from 1 PM to 5 PM daily.
The meteorological agency forecasts that this heatwave in Central Vietnam may last for several more days. Residents should be cautious of the risk of fires and explosions as electricity demand increases. Additionally, the heat can lead to dehydration, exhaustion, and heat strokes due to prolonged exposure to high temperatures.
Meanwhile, Southern Vietnam and the Central Highlands are expected to see a decrease in rainfall from June 6 to June 9. Temperatures in Ho Chi Minh City and the southeastern provinces will remain between 26-34 degrees Celsius, with hot weather during the day and cooler temperatures in the evening. Showers may occur unexpectedly at the beginning of the week, but the amounts are not significant.
