The Department of Animal Health (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) has reported that while many provinces have managed to control and remove themselves from the “red” zone, new outbreaks continue to emerge. Yesterday (December 7), an outbreak was reported in Yên Bái.

On December 2, outbreaks occurred in three poultry farms across two communes in Trấn Yên and Lục Yên districts (Yên Bái), resulting in the death of 42 chickens and 19 ducks. The provincial Animal Health Department has destroyed 4,183 chickens and 1,429 ducks. Test results have confirmed the presence of the H5 avian influenza virus.
In Ninh Bình, on December 4-5, five poultry farms in four communes across three districts, namely Yên Mô, Tam Điệp town, and Gia Viễn, reported an outbreak that resulted in 21 chickens and 221 ducks being killed. Samples from the affected farms have been sent for testing, and the Animal Health Department has destroyed 1,032 chickens and 1,788 ducks and geese from these farms.
Yesterday (December 6), in Thuần Lộc commune, Hậu Lộc district (Thanh Hóa), 25 chickens were found dead, and 45 chickens were subsequently destroyed. Although Hải Dương province has not reported any new outbreaks, it has still proceeded to destroy 76,049 ducks and geese.
Currently, there are 164 communes and wards in 60 districts, towns, and cities across 14 provinces and cities where outbreaks have occurred within the last 21 days. These include Bắc Ninh, Cao Bằng, Hải Dương, Ninh Bình, Phú Thọ, Sơn La, Thái Nguyên, Thanh Hoá, Hải Phòng, Vĩnh Phúc, Quảng Ninh, Nghệ An, Hà Giang, and Yên Bái.
Bắc Giang: No new outbreaks in the past 21 days.
From October 1 to the present, a total of 3.005 million poultry have been destroyed (including birds culled in urban areas).
