Green guava contains a high tannin content, making it effective for treating diarrhea (while it can cause constipation when ripe). Green guava can also detoxify the effects of the black bean and other toxins that cause diarrhea.

All parts of the guava tree are traditional medicinal ingredients with good healing properties.
Guava Buds: They help to tighten tissues and stop bleeding. When experiencing abdominal pain or diarrhea, take 5-7 guava buds, wash them thoroughly, chew with a few grains of salt, and swallow the juice 2-3 times a day. They can also be combined with other medicinal ingredients:
– Treating Diarrhea: 20 g of roasted guava buds; 10 g of dried tangerine peel; 10 g of roasted ginger. Chop all ingredients finely, boil with 400 ml of water until only 100 ml remains, and drink in two doses throughout the day. Alternatively, use 20 g of guava buds, 16 g of lemongrass, and 8 g of galangal. Slice finely, roast briefly, and boil to extract a concentrated liquid for drinking.
Guava Leaves: Widely used to treat abdominal pain and diarrhea, especially in young children. For use, take 20 g of guava leaves combined with 20 g of dried pomelo peel, 10 g of fresh tea leaves, and 2 slices of fresh ginger. Boil to drink.
For external use, chop guava leaves finely, boil them in water for a daily bath to treat prickly heat and itching. A concentrated decoction of guava leaves can be used to wash soft tissue wounds, ulcers, clean pus, eliminate odors, and promote healthy granulation tissue development. A thick extract of guava leaves applied to burns acts quickly to create a protective layer, helping to dry the wound.
Guava Fruit: In addition to its effect in treating diarrhea, guava is also beneficial for those with diabetes. Scientists have given insulin-independent diabetic patients guava juice, which has shown significant blood sugar-lowering effects.
Through multiple experiments, an Indian doctor found that consuming approximately 500 g of ripe guava daily can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, lower blood cholesterol, and decrease blood pressure (especially the variety with bumpy skin and red flesh).
